Angelique Kidjo: “Musical Tour de Force”

Hugely popular Beninoise singer-songwriter Angelique Kidjo has been busy lately:

In recent days her brimming schedule has included a role in a Mo Ibrahim Prize for Africa event in Tanzania, a perfomance at the London tribute concert for the great Miriam Makeba; and an appearance on stage in Cape town for the 2010 World Cup Draw.

How could I have missed her before today? She’s a four-time Grammy winner, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, activist for numerous organizations and has performed with Carlos Santana, Branford Marsalis, Josh Groban and dozens more.
